App Privacy Policy

This policy covers the iPhone app Interrupt. The website has its own privacy policy.

The short version
The app collects no data. It has no server, no account, no network access, and it embeds no third-party software that collects data. Everything the app knows stays on your iPhone and is deleted with the app.
What the app stores on the device
- Your settings: which apps belong to a Pool, the daily time budget, the prices for more time, and the extra time you have earned.
- A log of what happened in the app: when a budget was used up, which price was chosen and whether it was completed. It serves the app itself and an evaluation that only you can trigger (see “Export”).
The app does not know which apps you selected: Apple hands them over as opaque identifiers that the app can display but not read.
System permissions
The app asks for a permission only when a feature needs it, and explains beforehand what for.
- Screen Time (Family Controls): so that the app can shield the apps of a Pool once the budget is used. Usage data stays with Apple and on the device.
- Motion: the Walk price counts your steps from the moment you choose it. Nothing else is read.
- Microphone: the Vacuum price listens for a vacuum cleaner while the price runs. Nothing is recorded, and nothing leaves the phone.
- Camera: a price that ends at a code reads that code through the camera, only while the scanner is open. No picture is kept.
Export
You can export the app’s log as a file and pass it on yourself, for example by e-mail to me, to help with testing. This happens only when you trigger it; nothing is sent automatically. The file contains no app names, no times of day and no calendar dates, but it is pseudonymous, not anonymous: the events of one Pool stay linked through an identifier. A file you send me is used only to improve the app and deleted once the evaluation is complete. The legal basis is your consent, given by passing the file on (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can withdraw it at any time by asking me to delete the file.
No sharing, no tracking
The app passes no data to third parties, contains no advertising and no tracking.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). For everything on your device you are the fastest yourself: delete the app and it is gone. For everything else, write to michael@derfuchs.net.
